The UVic ERC

Breaking News: The ERC has received nearly $3,500 in University support for their efforts to restore Garry oak associated communities on campus! Well done everyone!!!!!

Student stewards of their own campus

The Ecological Restoration Club at the University of Victoria is an active, driven group of our local students. They lead and support restoration actions both on and off campus, including their growing efforts in the UVic meadow systems, their long-standing invasive species control efforts in Mystic Vale, their annual trips to Galiano Island and Trial Island, and their continuous awareness of, and engagement in, broader restoration activities around the city.

They have a listserv with event updates, and a website with more information. Check it out if you're interested, email nature@uvic.ca, or pop onto their Facebook page for upcoming gatherings.

We work on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. The Songhees and Esquimalt, as well as the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples have deep, historical relationships with the land that continue to this day. Most of our group are uninvited settlers here. We are committed to deepening our understanding of how we can assist in the movement of reconciliation, dismantling the systems that continue to cause harm, and honoring the traditional stewards that have shaped this land.
