Student final projects

Student Final Projects

We are working to compile information and locations for every RNS final project over the last ten years. The interactive map below shows projects from 2016 to 2019.

The purpose of this page is to allow students and the community to see where we've been working, what we've been doing, and who we've been doing it with. Ultimately, we want to highlight our community partnerships, and to provide a starting point for students planning out their own final projects. If a student is looking for an idea, this database emphasizes where we have worked in the past and hopefully will inspire new work in some of the same sites or with some of the same partners. We want students to build on each other's efforts, creating consistency between projects that can deeply support larger management plans and strategies of our partners.

PLEASE NOTE that if you click the "View larger map" link (the square in the upper right corner of the map), it will open a new tab that allows searching by ecosystem, keyword, year, or other variable of interest.
We work on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. The Songhees and Esquimalt, as well as the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples have deep, historical relationships with the land that continue to this day. Most of our group are uninvited settlers here. We are committed to deepening our understanding of how we can assist in the movement of reconciliation, dismantling the systems that continue to cause harm, and honoring the traditional stewards that have shaped this land.
